One Good Deed is a grassroots non-profit organization that utilizes volunteers of all ages to assist and improve the quality of life for older adults and people with disabilities. One Good Deed began in January 2006 with a handful of volunteers and two care recipients. Today we have 108 volunteers, over 90 youth special project volunteers and we perform more than 55 good deeds per month! The deeds range from changing a hard to reach light bulb, grocery shopping, reading to the visually impaired, delivering meals and visiting with a senior who is lonely. One Good Deed’s newest service is a Transportation Program. A OGD employee will provide rides, free of charge, to eligible seniors and people with disabilities, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Eligibility currently requires that recipients live in the following zip codes to receive services: 30329, 30345, 30306, 30033, 30322 or 30324.
